COP26 - Doe het nu
COP26 in Glasgow in November heeft als doel om "de wereld te verenigen om de klimaatverandering aan te pakken". Maar tijdens de vorige 25 COP-conferenties sinds 1995 zijn de wereldleiders er herhaaldelijk niet in geslaagd om dit doel te bereiken. We zullen dit fout niet aanvaarden - regeringen moeten nu handelen. "Stop met ons te doden" is de boodschap van XR-groepen uit het Zuiden die nu al lijden onder de meest catastrofale gevolgen van klimaatverandering. We moeten ook een stem geven aan de miljoenen soorten en toekomstige generaties die niet voor zichzelf kunnen spreken. XR zal blijven aandringen op onmiddellijke actie om de klimaat- en ecologische noodsituatie aan te pakken in de aanloop naar, tijdens en na COP26.

Deze november in Glasgow en over de hele wereld zullen we vreedzame, creatieve protesten en geweldloze burgerlijke ongehoorzaamheid gebruiken om onze eisen te stellen. We zullen zingen en dansen en de armen ineen slaan tegen wanhoop en de wereld eraan herinneren dat er zoveel is dat het waard is om voor in opstand te komen.
