XR Westside invites you to join us for a film-and-discussion night at 6.30pm on Wednesday 31st August at Kindred Studios. We’ll be showing three short films that will show you a little about who the people of XR are, and what we get up to. One documents a 2021 XR blockade at the ExxonMobil fuel terminal in Yarraville and was featured in the 2022 Setting Sun Film Festival. In the second we meet a beekeeper who gets involved in an XR action in Sydney. The last one tells the story of how an East Gippsland community and activists from around the country stopped logging in rare forests spared by the Black Summer fires but threatened with logging. This film was selected for Sydney’s 2022 Dare to Struggle Film Festival. There’ll also be time to meet and chat with some of your fellow rebels, and get involved in planning an exciting local action for September. Snacks and drinks provided. Whether you’re brand new to XR or were involved once upon a time and are ready to re-engage, we’d love to see you there! Love & rage, XR Westside XR VIC acknowledges that we rebel on the stolen land of the Indigenous peoples of so-called Australia. We pay our deepest respects to First Nations people and Elders, past and present.
