Six of our Northamptonshire MPs voted to allow water companies to continue dumping raw sewage into our waterways hundreds of times a year - the seventh MP didn't vote. The people of Northampton value our waterways. The Nene forms the heart of our community, with many visiting for sports, walks, to experience nature or biodiversity, to witness its beauty. The Dirty Water campaign in Northamptonshire will kick off with the unveiling of blue plaques for three MPs in Northampton and Kettering. In Northampton two plaques will be installed at 10 am on Saturday 28 January on South Bridge (near the Carlsberg factory). At the same time a plaque will be installed on Deeble Road Bridge in Kettering. We are inviting all waterway users and Northants residents to join us both on the bridge and on the river.
