XR Cymru, Cardiff, Bristol, the Midlands and the SW are now running monthly group trips to the Crackley Wood protest camp to support Stop HS2! NEXT: ‪Sat 30th of October- Tues 3rd November. We aim to show solidarity with Stop HS2 protestors and platform the courageous work they have done to date. We will camp on site for 4 nights, where there will be opportunities for HS2 inductions, Affinity Group formations, and NVDA specific climbing and rope trainings. There will be time to design and take part in actions, as well as enjoy the beautiful surroundings, go on wildlife walks and chat around campfires. We plan to arrive anytime on Friday, but scheduled inductions and group activities will not start until after lunch on Saturday. You do not need to attend this trip for the duration and are also welcome to arrive before and leave after these dates. What to bring: Your OWN camping equipment, torches, cutlery, plate/bowl/tupperware, mug and water bottle, face mask, warm clothing, waterproofs, any personal climbing gear you own and any musical instrument you might have! Communal meals will be provided with a suggestion if you can of a £10 cash donation to help cover this. There is a long drop toilet, running water, plenty of camp space and solar charging for electrics available on site. Please bring any homemade cakes, biscuits or sweet treats and snacks to share with you. Travel: 1 hr 45 mins drive from Bristol 2 hrs 15 mins drive from Cardiff 3 hrs drive from Exeter There are public transport options available, a bus and train both under a 10 minute drive away. Lifts can be arranged from the stations to camp.
