The Pedal Rebels will ride again on Sunday November 8, 2020. After meeting at Victoria Park Pool, Camperdown, at 9:30AM sharp, for a safety briefing, we will take a leisurely, but noisy, ride along City Road and King Street, Newtown to our final destination at Sydney Park, St Peters. We need to remind our species that we are in an extinction crisis and time is running out to make the changes required to reduce climate catastrophe and ecocide. Please bring XR flags, costumes, t-shirts or signs you can attach to your bike. This is a family and child-friendly event and everyone is welcome, so bring your friends! DO NOT BE LATE! Safety briefing begins at 9:30. - Ride will maintain physical distancing. - Safety precautions will be observed. - We may slow traffic but will not be majorly disruptive. - We will be loud, colourful and fun (crazier the better). - Ensure that your bicycle has a bell (we want to make some noise and it is a legal requirement). WET WEATHER - if the forecast is looking uncertain and skies are turning grey, check the Facebook event notification at 7am on the day for information about whether or not the ride is going ahead or contact one of the the hosts via Messenger! If you need to borrow a bike or want to request other equipment, flags, etc. or if you are interested in handing out XR information, direct message one of the hosting groups. Extinction Rebellion acknowledges that this ride is taking place on the stolen land of the Gadigal People and that sovereignty over this land was never ceded. We acknowledge Gadigal elders past, present and emerging and the way they have cared for this country for tens of thousands of years.
