Join us for a colourful, joyful procession through the streets of Glasgow! Pilgrimage groups are walking to Glasgow to raise awareness of the climate crisis and demand a fair deal at COP26 for the Global South. It’s a people’s walk for the planet, for people of all faiths (and no faith). XR Glasgow, Young Christian Climate Network and pilgrimage groups are inviting you to gather at Glasgow Green to officially welcome the pilgrims and other rebels to Glasgow before we go for a family-friendly colourful procession through the streets of Glasgow. For the procession, we are linking with artists and indigenous leaders to create a unique and special event with a serious message to COP26 to walk the walk, especially for the Global South. The Serpent of Capitalism and the Beach of Dreams will be joining the procession. The Camino to COP and Pilgrimage for COP26 are inspired both by the faith tradition of pilgrimage and great justice marches of the past: the Jarrow March in the UK, the Salt March in India and the March on Washington in the US.
